This month the Year 11 Art and Design students started their ESA (exam component) based on the theme 'Gathering'.

As part of the introduction to the ESA, the Art and Design department organised an exciting day long Artist in Residence workshop.  The workshop was delivered by an Artist in Residence and was designed to demonstrate the Artist’s unique painting tips, secrets, methods and techniques.  The artist’s demonstrations acted as an inspiration towards the students’ own ideas and promoted skills, resulting in creative and imaginative developments.

It was an enriching experience for the students and provided an invaluable accompaniment to their understanding of the GCSE Art objectives. Their work produced during the workshop will go towards their ESA Component 2.
