Chaplains Weekend Posted: 27/06/25
On Friday 20 June, accompanied by the Chaplain and Mr Thorley, 15 students from Year 7 and Year 8 set off from Wren Academy Finchley to journey to an activity centre in Tonbridge, Kent. Having picked up a similar number of students, accompanied by the Revd. Alison and Mr Ferrari, from Wren Academy Enfield, we arrived at our destination ready for a weekend of activities. Staff and students all had a really enjoyable time, which you can read about below with reports from some of our students:
On Friday we went with Wren Enfield to Carroty Wood activity centre. We had a brilliant time taking part in archery, table tennis, pool and making new friends. We even got to play in the wonderful woods. It is truly a memory no one will forget! Everyone had an awesome time. Also, the marvellous meals were truly one of a kind. It was amazing! We also had some time to reflect on who we are and why we are here. You need to come! Ana Isabel C, 7 Walbrook
The Chaplains Weekend away was a great experience for my friends and I. We engaged in a multitude of activities such as archery, table tennis and pool. The rooms were nice and comfortable and the venue was a great place to spend the weekend. As a group we enjoyed the nature and serene atmosphere of the forest and spent some time exploring meaningful questions such as Who am I? and Why are we here? We spent some time reflecting on the story of Zaccheus and thanking God for the opportunity to share our thoughts with each other and the chance to have an enjoyable weekend. We were able to indulge in delicious food such as lasagne and chicken curry over this weekend and to explore nature and a beautiful forest for which I know I am very grateful. Overall, this weekend was a brilliant experience and we all had a great time. Sam W, 8 Piccadilly
