Christingle Services Posted: 18/12/25

Some students had written prayers especially for the service which they read out, while other students read the nativity story from the gospel of Luke.

ChristingleOnce again, we had the opportunity to hold two Christingle Services at Christ Church, North Finchley, this year.

It was lovely to welcome parents and carers to this service of Christmas songs and carols, Bible readings, talks by the Revd Dave Walker and the Revd Alex Williams, Prayers and the giving out of Christingles.

Students and teachers had worked hard on rehearsing individual class Christmas songs and carols, which were performed wonderfully in the Church. We also sang two carols together. Some students had written prayers especially for the service which they read out, while other students read the nativity story from the gospel of Luke. The Revd Dave and Revd Alex helped us to recap the important Nativity story and it was wonderful to see the children included in acting this out.

The Revd Dave also reminded us what the different parts of the Christingle mean. The service ended with students singing the Micah song whilst holding their lit Christingles in the atmospheric, darkened Church.

Thank you to all the Primary staff who were involved in the services or in preparing the Christingles.
