On Thursday 13 November, our A Level English Literature students enjoyed an inspiring theatre trip to the Piccadilly Royal Haymarket to see a modern production of Othello.  The performance offered an engaging interpretation of Shakespeare’s tragedy, giving students the chance to deepen their understanding of the play beyond the classroom.

From the moment the lights dimmed, the cast delivered powerful performances.  The production highlighted some key themes such as jealousy, manipulation and trust, all of which resonated strongly with our students.

The trip not only enriched students’ appreciation of Shakespeare but has also encouraged thoughtful discussion in and outside the classroom.

We are lucky to live in London and have experiences like this to remind us of the value of live theatre that brings literature to life.
