Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge Posted: 19/12/25

Students spoke confidently and articulately on topics ranging from mental health to modern art, from poverty to the existence of aliens.

On Monday 1 December, the annual Speak Out Challenge workshop took place here at Wren.

60 Year 10 students spent the day learning how to become confident and articulate public speakers.  The standard this year was exceptional, the judges had a very difficult task to choose our semi-finalists.

Students spoke confidently and articulately on topics ranging from mental health to modern art, from poverty to the existence of aliens.  Our trainers, Rui and Vanessa, were incredibly impressed with our students and it was a joy to see so many grow in confidence as the day progressed.

The following students will compete in the next round.

Alice P, 10 Bow

Brogan M, 10 Bow

Dennis B, 10 Bow

Lily-Elise J, 10 Strand

Noah R, 10 Walbrook

Nora K, 10 Ludgate

Priyena V, 10 Ludgate

Saffron H, 10 Walbrook

The chosen finalist will then go on to represent Wren Academy at the Barnet Regional Final in the new year.
