The Art and Design Department took Year 9 students to the Courtauld Gallery at Somerset House for an exciting school trip, where they enjoyed a guided tour led by the gallery’s educators.

Students explored a range of portraits firsthand, deepening their understanding of the techniques and ideas behind them.  They also took part in a personalised portraiture workshop, giving them the chance to experiment with new skills and approaches. 

As they have been studying portraiture this term, the trip offered valuable inspiration and practical insight that will help them create their very own oil painting portraits!
