Jack Petchey's Speak Out Challenge Posted: 6/02/26
The Speak Out Challenge Regional Final is a public celebration of young people and the Barnet Regional Final, hosted at the London Academy on Wednesday 4 February was no exception.
The Regional Final is an opportunity for everyone in the community and across the borough to come together to celebrate and build a platform for young voices. The evening was compered by last year’s winner, Nidarshanaa V (from Henrietta Barnet) and was packed with original and insightful ideas from many young speakers, on a diverse range of topics, from neurodiversity to men’s mental health.
Alice P - 10 Bow represented Wren Academy with her speech entitled 'Seeing Red'. It was a personal, insightful and entertaining speech about the joys and challenges of being ginger. The judges and audience were impressed by her passionate and original speech about the portrayal of red heads in the media and in society.
She was presented with her certificate by last year’s Mayor of Barnet, Tony Vourou.
