Year 10 History Trip Posted: 13/03/26

Walking through the underground corridors where key decisions were made during the Second World War brought their learning vividly to life.

H3Our recent visit to the Churchill War Rooms in Whitehall gave our Year 10 students a powerful insight into Britain’s 1939 - 1945 wartime leadership.

Walking through the underground corridors where key decisions were made during the Second World War brought their learning vividly to life.  Students got to explore the historic map room and underground communications areas, seeing how information was tracked and shared between global allied commands at the height of the conflict.

In the Churchill Museum, they discovered more about Churchill’s leadership and how morale was sustained during the blitz.

The visit directly enriched their GCSE component 'Warfare Through Time' study of the blitz, helping them connect the experiences of civilians under bombardment with the strategic decisions made beneath Whitehall.
