The annual Year 10 and Year 12 ski trip took place during the Easter holidays. We set off via coach from Wren Academy at lunchtime on Saturday 28 April to make our way to Zillertal, Austria. A total of 80 students attended, including students from SMSJ, and all were excited and looking forward to having a fantastic time on the ski slopes of the Eastern Alps.
The skiing conditions were excellent with fresh snow fall each day, which you will be able to see from the photos below. The area is known for it's spectacular views, which was limited due to cloud cover, but when the clouds gave way we were gifted with some breathtaking scenery.
The ski company provided us with some really enjoyable evening entertainment too, including activities like bowling and a disco. The highlight though was the Tyrolean evening, where students and staff took part in some friendly competitions against other schools; including events like log sawing, dancing and yodelling.
Throughout the trip all the students made significant progress in their skiing ability and formed some new friendships along the way, which contributed to a highly rewarding and memorable experience for all.
