Wren Academy Finchley has come a long way since the school opened to its first Year 7 students in 2008.
The school has continued to grow as we have taken on new primary cohorts since 2015 becoming an all through school with over 1400 students aged between four and 18. The school is proud of its successes; achieving excellent Primary, GCSE and A Level results, which have enabled our young people to thrive and then make the most of all educational and employment opportunities. We have also established a reputation for excellence in teaching and learning, developing an approach which focuses consistently on enabling young people to be effective learners. Having been involved in the setting up of the primary, secondary phase and Sixth Form, I am delighted to recommend each stage of education to parents and children interested in becoming part of the Wren community.
Wren Academy Finchley is a place where young people feel known, valued and inspired every day. Our high quality lessons and extensive enrichment programme make this a vibrant school to learn and work in, but what truly sets us apart is the strength of the relationships that shape our community. Students treat one another with kindness and respect, and they embrace every opportunity to learn, grow and support each other.
The connection between staff and students is exceptional. Adults and young people work side by side in an atmosphere of warmth and shared purpose. Because we believe in our students, we give them real responsibility and they rise to it with a shared desire to make a difference. Their behaviour, their leadership and their commitment to serving both the local community and the wider world are a testament to the culture we have built together.
Student leadership is woven into the heart of Academy life. From curriculum advisers and lesson observers to interview panel members and our dynamic student council, our young people play an active role in shaping their school. They are encouraged to use their voice and take initiative.
Our Christian Vision, inspires us all and guides our actions as we are reminded of the power of redemption and possibility by the biblical encounter between Jesus and Zacchaeus and our foundation Bible verse to
